The intercity express bus "Hinokuni-go", jointly operated by Nishi-Nippon Railroad and Kyushu Sanko Bus, celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2022.
The Hinokuni-go began operation in 1962 as an express bus via National Route 3, connecting Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture and Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
It is the express bus with the longest history in Kyushu, and as of 2022, it operates 162 trips on weekdays and 170 trips on weekends and holidays across three routes, making it a highly frequent route for an express bus
. The product is the latest model (MS06) of the Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Ace, which is still in use in 2022, the milestone of the 60th anniversary of the two companies .
