The E259 series, which was introduced in 2009 as the second generation of the "Narita Express" that connects various parts of the Tokyo metropolitan area with Narita Airport, will be transformed from 2023 with the concept of "evolving into a new E259 series." Vehicle designs are being gradually changed to accommodate different purposes. The newly designed E259 series features a design that incorporates a silver-based color on the front and sides of the lead car, reflecting the ``various situations in which the train is used'' and the ``changing scenery of the area along the line.''
